Mori Building was quick to advance into the Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone in Shanghai’s Pudong Area

The Huangpu River flows through the center of the city of Shanghai, separating the city into the Puxi area on the west side of the Huangpu and the Pudong area on its east side. The Lujiazui financial district is located in the Pudong area. Development of the Pudong area began as a national project in 1990. Mori Building began studying development in this area in 1993, deciding on a project in 1994. Although construction began in 1997, the project was later suspended in response to the worsening of economic conditions as a result of the Asian currency crisis. A resumption of construction was announced in 2003 when the Asian economy began to show signs of recovery. The frame was completed in September 2007, and construction was completed in 2008.
